Journal 2-23-11

This past weekend I had a volleyball tournament in Omaha. We ended up taking 7th place but were expected to do much better. There were about 63 teams in the 18's division. We left for Omaha on Friday around 3 o'clock. The club director rented 5 coach buses to ride down to Omaha on. We got to the hotel around 9 at night and ate some dinner then we were off to bed. We woke up at 6 the next morning. Our first match was at 8 a.m., which we won. Then we played at 10, and 12, which we won as well. That night we went to a restaurant called Jazz with all the parents and the whole team and coaches. It's this Louisiana style restaurant, but the food was really good! After we were done eating we went back to the hotel and layed around. Then we had a team meeting and went to bed at 10:30. Then we woke up the next morning at 6 to play again. This time is didn't turn out so great. We won one and lost 2. After that disappointing day we went back to the hotel to shower and take a nap. Then we just ordered pizza for dinner, which was really good. After that we all layed around and watched Criminal Minds for a good 4 hours! After that we had to pack and go to bed around 10:30 again. The next morning we got up at 6, did the same routine but we had to put our bags in the chaps room because we were checking out that day. So we did all that and went to the gym around 7, our first match was at 8 again, which we won. Then we watch another match and we needed one team to lose so we were in the gold but unfortunately that didn't happen, so we ended up in the silver bracket. So then we played at 12 and won so we took 7th in the tournament. After that we all went to get our bags and started driving home. It took an extra 2 hours to get home because of the blizzard and the roads were really bad. So we ended up getting home around 11 and my mom would not let me sleep in, which kind of made me mad. But even though we didn't do as well as we planned I thought we still did good in the tournament and made memories on and off the court with the team.
